Transforming Queensland
The Games Independent Infrastructure and Coordination Authority (GIICA) is building a statewide legacy of sporting infrastructure that Queenslanders will enjoy for generations as we set the stage for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Between now and 2032, GIICA will deliver 17 new and upgraded venues for a show-stopping Games; ranging from the new Brisbane Stadium to community sporting facilities that will support our state's growing urban and regional hubs.
The Games will deliver significant economic, trade and tourism benefits in our cities and regions and create better connected, healthier, sustainable and inclusive communities.
We are building a legacy that transcends the Games, showcasing Queensland design, vision, culture and lifestyle on the world stage.
Our venues are built for the Games, made for the future.
Hosting the world's largest sporting celebration is a privilege that will define Queensland for the rest of the 21st century, driving economic growth, sustainability, connectivity, and healthier, more inclusive communities.
Roadmap to 2032
GIICA is delivering 17 new and upgraded venues across Queensland through seven key phases – from initial planning, through to venue completion and handover.
Each phase is designed to ensure our venues are fit for purpose for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, while creating lasting benefits for Queensland communities.
We work hand-in-hand with infrastructure experts, sustainability leaders, First Nations groups, and local communities to ensure every venue reflects world-class design, accessibility and long-term value.

Benefits and Legacy
Queensland stands at a defining moment – ready to reshape its sporting and events landscape and elevate its place on the global stage.
The 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games will deliver far-reaching benefits not just for Brisbane, Queensland and Australia, but for the wider Oceania region.
This is our chance to advance the economy and connectivity, celebrate culture, improve accessibility and build more active, inclusive communities through sport.
For every venue, GIICA will prioritise community use, sustainability, universal access and cultural heritage, while attracting the world’s biggest superstars to the Sunshine State.
Community
GIICA’s venues will be built for the Games in 2032, but are made for the future, with community legacy the driving force behind every venue.
We understand the trust placed in us to deliver Games infrastructure in a responsible manner, and we are committed to continuing to engage with all Queenslanders as we build towards 2032.
We will ensure communities are kept informed every step along the way. We will provide opportunities for community consultation and provide timely updates so that people are aware of what is happening and any potential impacts in their local areas.
As new community events and consultation opportunities arise, you’ll find them promoted here—so you can be part of shaping Queensland’s future.
